The Heritage Village
Revisit
history with a stroll down a re-created 1900’s street at the Heritage Village,
located at the Polar Bear Habitat & Heritage Village. The Hunta Museum
of Days of Gone By was created by Jerry and Phyllis Miller of Hunta.
What began
as a passion for restoring antiques soon became a much bigger passion for the
Millers. People from all over would stop by to see the antiques that they had
restored, some of which had to be stored in boxes and barns. It was then
decided that they needed a bigger place to showcase all of their years of hard
work and wonderful treasures.
Their treasures
have found a new home at the Heritage Village.
Skits and
demonstrations are offered throughout the summer months, by "townspeople”
dressed in period garments, educating and entertaining visitors while bringing
history to life. Visitors can join interpretive tours, watch rope-making
session, or other demonstrations.
